Being from a South American heritage but growing up in North America has been an interesting and sometimes difficult experience. It is something I explore greatly in my art as it defines my sense of self-identity and heritage. I love to explore the idea of hybrid cultures and people who grow up experiencing many cultures. In this performance piece with ConSECUENCIAS I explored the idea of self-identity as immigrant youth in Canada, dealing with isolation and the crumbling of family unit. Giselle Mira-Diaz© 2014
